Workforce Investment Board (WIB) / Executive Board
The Region VI WIB (also known as Full Board) was established to plan and implement a system to coordinate the skills local job seekers are obtaining with the skills that local employers want for their businesses. The Region VI WIB also approves members that serve on the Youth Council.
The board consists of individuals from business, education, labor, community based organizations, economic development, and One-Stop partner agencies. The business sector must represent fifty-one percent (51%) of the total WIB membership. The board chair is required to be from the business sector. Membership must include at least two (2) individuals each from the education, labor, community based, and economic development sectors. In addition, each One-Stop partner must be represented on the WIB. The Region VI WIB has quarterly meetings, which are open to the public.
The Region VI WIB has a subgroup, the Executive Board, which consists of Full Board members. The Executive Board meets on a monthly basis (except on Full Board meeting months), which are open to the public. The Executive Board was created to act on behalf of the Full Board in addressing issues, which require action, that arise between Full Board meetings,
Full Board Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday in July, October, January, and April. Executive Board Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday during the other months of the year. For more information regarding meeting dates, please contact our office @ 304-368-9530.
